Pote e tampa, sem pecado, é encontro marcado.

Uma reflexão...

O ceramista emoldura o vazio, mas um pote nunca está vazio. Sua forma de uso é transformada conforme a criatividade de quem o possue, ele tem este poder de infiltrar-se na rotina das pessoas de maneira sutil, levando consigo traços, marcas e pensamentos de quem o fez.

O interior de um pote é tranquilo, sereno, receptivo; a tradução do conter, guardar e oferecer. 

Ter entre as mãos, o segredo de um e o desejo de outro. Manisfesto de forma física, tátil, absurdamente sedutor e discretamente transformando.

A reflection...

The potter frames empty spaces, but a pot is never empty. It can change according the owner's creativity and has the power to introduce itself at everybody routine, so subtle; carrying on marks, traces and thoughts from the potter.

The inside of the pot is quiet, serene and receptive; 

the translation of "to contain", "to keep" and "to offer". 

Between hands, the secret of ones and the desire of others.

As a physical form manifest, tactile, completely seductive and quietly transforming.

Weaving the Morning

One rooster not weave a morning,

he will always need the other roosters,

one to pick up the shout that he 

and toss it to another, another rooster

to pick up the shout that a rooster before him

and toss it to another, and other roosters

with many other roosters to cris-cross

the sun-threads of their rooster-shouts

so that morning, starting from a frail cobweb,

may go on being woven, among all the roosters.

And growing large, becoming cloth,

pitching itself a tent where they all may enter,

inter-unfurling itself for them all, in the tent

(the morning, wich soars free of ties and ropes - 

the morning, tent of a weave so light

that, woven, it lifts itself through itself: baloon light.

Tecendo a Manhã

Um galo sozinho não tece manhã:

ele precisará sempre de outros galos.

De um que apanhe esse grito que ele

 o lance a outro; de um outro galo

que apanhe o grito que um galo antes

e o lance a outro; e de outros galos

que com muito outros galos se cruzem

os fios de sol de seus gritos de galo,

para que a manhã, desde uma teia tênue,

se vá tecendo, entre todos os galos.

E se encorpando em tela, entre todos,

se erguendo tenda, onde entrem todos,

se entretendendo para todos, no toldo

(a manhã) que plana livre de armação.

A manhã, toldo de um tecido tão aéreo

que, tecido, se elva por si: luz balão.

First International Ceramic Artists Meeting at USP

I Encontro Internacional de Ceramistas na USP 
I EIC

O Encontro Internacional de Ceramistas, 

promovido pela Escola de Comunição e Artes da USP, 

sob coordenação das Profª Dra. Norma Grinberg, 

Cristiane Bertoldi e Sílvia Tagusagawa, realizado na semana passada, contou com presença de mais de 240 participantes e foi um sucesso.

Os grandes nomes vindos de de vários locais do mundo, dispensam apresentações. 

Evento de natureza inédita no Brasil, promoveu discussões importantes. 

Foi além da técnica, levantou questionamentos, promoveu intercâmbios e apontou novas possibilidades para a arte cerâmica brasileira.  É, também, deste tipo de reflexão sobre o "fazer cerâmico" e seu processo criativo que a cerâmica nacional precisa!

Também foi uma ótima oportunidade de rever vários colegas e conhecer novos!!:-)
Muito obrigada a Profª Norma Grimber, aos palestrantes e a toda a equipe.

The 1st International Ceramic Artists Meeting at USP (Sao Paulo University-Brazil) was held March 22nd to 25, 2011, at Auditorium of Architecture and Urbanism College of Sao Paulo University (FAU/USP). Under coordination of Profª Dras. Norma Grinberg, 

Cristiane Bertoldi and Sílvia Tagusagawa, had more than 240 attendees. It was a success.

International lecturers are well known at ceramic world.

This meeting, with no precedent in Brazil, promoted important discussions. 

It was gone far beyond the simple explanation about techniques. The event provoked reflections, sharings and pointed out new possibilities to the Brazilian Ceramic Art.

Surely the national ceramic and it's proccess of creation will take benefits from the Meeting. 

Besides, it was a great time to meet old friends and make new ones too. 

I would like to thank you, Profa Norma Grinberg, thank the lecturers and all the staff.

 A cidade de Mashiko, Japão, sofreu grandes perdas depois do terremoto. Os fornos do Mestre Shoji Hamada e seu Museu de Referencia, sofreram grandes danos. Os ceramistas da região perderam seus fornos e ateliers.
