Short drinks
Os decalques foram aplicados nas peças ainda em ponto de couro.
Os motivos dos decalques são inspirados em xilogravuras da literatura de Cordel.
Esmaltes transparentes com base feldspática e pequena porção de zinco.
O verde é colorido com 1% de cobre, e o azul 1,5% de óxido de cobalto.

Ambos foram queimados em forno elétrico, 1240ºC.

Feldspar based transparent glaze, with small amount of zinc.

I need a coffe!
I really need a cup of coffe to make this post.
This was a very busy week...
On wednesday, I had the opportunity to see two interesting ceramic videos at Japan Fundation, in São Paulo, about the honored potters Uichi Shimizu (1926-2004) and Imaemon XIII(1926-2001) , potters who were greatly responsible for revitalizing pottery traditions in Japan; and because that, they were awarded as Important Intangible Cultural Properties, more commonly know as Living National Treasures.
On thursday, I attended a lecture with Kimiko Suenaga and Gilberto Jardineiro about the construction of a Noborigama kiln. Jardineiro lived 5 years in Japan, studing and working with pottery. In Japan, he meet Kimiko, and merried with her. They came back to Brazil both became precursors of pottery in Cunha city.
Beside the classes I teach, this week I had my class with Ikoma San. There, I am improving my handbuilt technics and enjoying the company of my dear potter friends. Also, I saw the last results of Ikoma Sensei Anagama firing.
And as usually, I had my weekly wheel class with Hideko Sensei too.
Meanwhile, I make some pieces at the wheel, I took some time to test a few ash glazes that I will post the results here, soon.
The blue glaze that you can see at photo above, received the "fine tunning" last sunday.
I really need to add some extra hours to my days... ;)
Eu realmente preciso de uma xícara de café para escrever este post...
Esta foi uma semana cheia.
Na quarta-feira eu tive a oportunide de ver dois vídeos sobre cerâmica na Fundação Japão em São Paulo, sobre dois importantes ceramistas Uichi Shimizu (1926-2004) e Imaemon XIII(1926-2001), ceramistas que foram responsáveis por revitalizar tradições cerâmicas no Japão e receberam o título de Patrimônios Culturais.
Na quinta-feira, assisti a palestra de Kimiko Suenaga e Gilberto Jardineiro, sobre a construção de fornos Noborigama. Jardineiro viveu 5 anos no Japão, estudando e trabalhando com cerâmica. Foi lá que ele conheceu e casou-se com Kimiko. Eles voltaram para o Brasil e se tornaram precursores da cerâmica na cidade de Cunha.
Além das aulas dadas, esta semana também tive minha aula com o Ikoma San; onde pude construir novas peças de modelagem manual e curtir a companhia de queridas amigas ceramistas. Também pude ver as últimas peças queimadas no anagama do Sensei.
E como de costume também tive minha aula semanal de torno com Hideko Sensei.
No meio disso tudo, além de fazer mais algumas peças no torno, fiz alguns testes com cinzas que espero logo fotografar e postar aqui.
O esmalte azul das xícaras da foto, recebeu o ajuste final no último domingo.
Não seria nada mal ter mais algumas horas extras nos meus dias... ;)
