Brazilian
The Indian
is the Brazilian indeed. Acculturated, he is socially invisible, an ethnic
exclusion. The few, confined, can maintain their traditions. Violently removed
from their roots, the Indian becomes a fantasy, not just for Carnival, but a
simulacrum. Entire indigenous communities, full of cultural richness and
meaning, being emptied, isolated, bottled up.

Coffee at Mangrove
Embellishing and interfering in the everyday life
with handmade objects has always been the artist goal in pottery. This pause
for the coffee reflects and demands the attention to this delicate and powerful
marine nursery, common to China and Brazil, the Mangrove, suffering heavy human
intervention. A pause for a bitter reflection.
