Anagama's Journey

At the beginning only lines, crossing the paper, the ground and the mind.

No início apenas linhas, cruzando o papel, o chão e a imaginação.  

First, following the Sensei steps, we must to be grateful and thanks to the earth, 

it's possibilites and beauty...  

And then, start digging.

Primeiro, seguindo os passos do Sensei, é preciso ser grato,

agradecer à natureza, suas possibilidades e belezas... 

E então, começar a escavação.

 

And as we go deeper in the earth, and into ourselves, the beauties and surprises...

E a medida que nos aprofundamos na terra, e nós mesmos, nas belezas e supresas...
 

...by tired, by responsibility, by the earth on my feets; I am a little out of breath.

...pelo cansaço, pela responsabilidade, pela terra nos meus pés; fico um pouco sem ar.

And I'm in doubt if we're really making just a kiln, but I´m inclined to find a poem fire.
But for now, the hypnotic flames are just praticing it´s dance, in somewhere else...

E fico em dúvida, se estamos mesmo fazendo apenas um forno ou um poema à prova de fogo.
Mas por agora, as hipinóticas chamas apenas ensaiam sua dança, em algum lugar...

One of the things I like most about Pottery is the glaze process.

Once I still fire my pieces in electric kiln, but I really Iove the results of a gas or wood kiln, I am not satisfied with my results.

I have lots of boxes with glaze tests and every time I open one of these boxes and look to one of these tests I feel like my perception changed. Well I am sure that it really changes. So, new ideas comes and new adjusts are necessary too. I never stop to read, research and observe.

The result is a never ending process about new tests, but with the same feeling, same expectations like the first time.

Uma das partes que mais gosto da cerâmica,

sem sombra de dúvida, é a elaboração dos vidrados.
Eu ainda queimo minhas peças no forno elétrico e nunca estou satisfeita, estou sempre buscando resultados que se assemelhem aos da queima a gás ou a lenha.

Tenho inúmeras caixas com placas de testes.

E sempre que vou dar uma olhada nelas depois de um tempo, é como se meu olhar mudasse, aliás, acho que muda mesmo.
Afinal, estou sempre lendo, pesquisando e observando.
E  idéias surgem, ajustes se tornam necessários.

Resultado, estou constantemente fazendo novos testes, mas é sempre a mesma sensação,  a mesma expectativa, como se fosse a primeira vez.

 I coiled it on band wheel.

Fired at Ikoma Sensei anagama, 1300ºC, no glaze outside , just the 

ashes that fly inside the wood kiln and settled on the piece.

Eu modelei com cobrinhas, no torno de mesa.

Queimada no forno anagama de Sensei Ikoma, 1300ºC, sem esmalte na parte externa, apenas 

o depósito das cinzas provenientes da queima em forno a lenha.

A parte interna da peça foi esmaltada com celadon.

New Glaze

At the same "Jeans Glaze" base, I changed the percentages a little and the color oxides too. 

Now it´s stable. But, don´t have a name yet... Do you have a suggestion?

News are coming. I´ll tell you soon!

Now I'm in a big hurry...

Na mesma base do esmalte "Jeans" eu alterei um pouco os percentuais 

e os óxidos colorantes também.

Agora está estável. Mas não tem um nome ainda... Vocês têm uma sugestão?
